As a child I can remember long arduous hair combing sessions with my mother who has fine wavy hair not at all like my thick curls, as a teen I relaxed my hair often cutting it into harsh angular shapes around my face that stayed pretty much perfect up until the point I left the hair dressers and hit any kind of British weather. 3 years ago. I discovered something I wasn’t supposed to. Years of being told and shown that our hair was unacceptable, left me feeling like I was born with a curse. That is until I went to Brazil in my late teens and saw first hand that afro, curly, wavy, bushy, fluffy, thick and thin curls were — unbelievably, jaw-droppingly beautiful.

How Do I Use SKIMDO Original Cream?
SKIMDO Original Cream works extremely well with the finger twisting method seen in our tutorial video here. Work the product into wet hair after cleansing. If you’re used to a wash ‘n go method, apply to wet curls, comb, rake or brush the product through evenly, and air dry or diffuse to finish. It’s also wonderful for flat-braiding and twist outs, as well as blow-outs. It is excellent on hair pieces and all types of wigs. It is wonderful used as a 'dry-conditioner' neat, between washes as a deodorizing refresher. SKIMDO is a fantastic grooming cream if you have a beard. Try taking a little product and applying it to damp facial hair for subtle control and a muted sheen.
How Much SKIMDO Original Cream should I use?
This depends on how thick or/and long your hair is. The gel-cream is very concentrated, so start with 2 or 3 pumps / 1 cherry sized drop and work through from the ends upwards to the root. Repeat until every strand of hair is coated. If you have thin or fine hair, start with 1 or 2 pumps and see how you go. Although the product is not greasy, it is medium weight and has a natural hold so baby steps are better. You will know if you have used too much product, as the hair will feel hard and possibly look flakey. If this happens, just spray generously with water and brush through with a tangle teaser. Then give it a quick wipe downwards from the root, with an old t-shirt NOT a towel.
How often should I use SKIMDO Original Cream?
SKIMDO Original Cream was created to give freedom from daily hair-styling by holding curls in flexible structure for up to a week. It was designed to be used once a week, however this can depend on your lifestyle. It was designed to withstand sweat and humidity, however your personal styling requirements or curl texture may mean that you use it every 4 days or so.
Is SKIMDO Original Cream only for Afro hair?
SKIMDO Original Cream is all inclusive, not exclusive. It is for every type of curly hair you can imagine. Although it was created by Kim, who is of Black and White heritage, it fits all. See TESTIMONIALS for a little more insight into this.

Yes! Yes! Yes! It’s a minimalist solution for all curly hair types.
What happens if I get SKIMDO Original Cream in my eyes?

Does SKIMDO have silicone?
SKIMDO has Dimethicone which is a linear silicone and considered safe for human use by EU standards (the highest in the world, banning over 1400 ingredients that are allowed in the U.S.). Linear silicones are not absorbed by the skin and are safe synthetics that we use to improve the texture of the curl’s cuticle, so it has a smoother surface. It is easily washed out completely by using any foaming shampoo. This can be a shampoo bar or sulphate-free shampoo that foams.
